Another amazing vintage wedding inspiration shoot is gracing the pages of this little wedding blog. Today’s photographer, Galaxie Andrews is like a kindred spirit to us here at La Belle Bride. She has the vintage vibe we adore and an appreciation for gorgeous wedding inspiration. We’re a match made in heaven. The hair pieces, vintage style and anthropologie-esque tablescape from this wedding inspiration shoot are all heaven sent. We look forward to seeing more amazing work from Galaxie!

Here’s Galaxie Andrews with the inspiration behind today’s shoot: The theme of the shoot was a ‘found objects wedding in the woods’ with many eclectic and diy elements. The feel was very intimate and laid-back as the couple [sarah & andrew] celebrated their wedding in a forest surrounded by close friends and beautiful found objects. Most of the styling and decorations were diy projects [like our yellow tissue-paper wisteria tree and our wild flower bouquet] along with tons of borrowed, thrifted & antiqued treasures.
We set up in the woods, with the smell of warm pine in the air, the wind ruffling through our wisteria tree, beatles music playing in the background, and the golden light melting behind the forest”, it was truly magical and just plain cool.

Isn’t this the perfect send off to the work week? An incredible vintage inspired Washington wedding shoot? Aubrey from Aubrey Joy Photography is clearly a creative and vintage-minded individual. I love the fresh fruit she uses to add a punch of color to these wedding inspiration photos. The soft, muted colors of these images are just dreamy. Happy weekend everyone!

A note from Aubrey regarding the inspiration for this shoot: That shoot was so much fun! Its always so great when a couple gets as excited about a shoot as I do. The inspiration actually started from my parents attic. I am always looking for fun, creative props and themes to use with clients at shoots. Props can be quirky, but they always seem to allow the couple to feel more relaxed, fun…..themselves. I hit the jack pot when I found my great grandmothers HUGE old handmade frame, some old china from Norway, and a few more treasures. I decided to throw it all together with a pretty yellow dress, and whoola! Vintage shoots give the feeling of timeless images, I think that is why a lot of people are really drawn to them. Those images will never be “dated” or out of style because they are reflecting a jumble of different time lines and hopefully mirroring back the couples’ personalities in an artistic way. I feel in love with the idea of a tea party in the middle of nowhere. Before this shoot I had an idea in my mind of what I hoped the end result would look like… and this time I was able to accomplish it… ha, I love it when that happens!

We’re gettin’ studious today, peeps! Thanks to Shang Chen, photographer extraordinaire, we’re soaking in a sweet Cambridge, Massachusetts held at the beautiful Harvard Faculty Club (PS Mom, this is the closest I’m getting to attending Harvard, right here). Luci and Owen, our bride and groom, offer some seriously refreshing wedding ideas for today’s bride. It’s not often that bridal blogs see colored wedding dresses, never mind plum ones! And isn’t it intensely cool? Literally drooling over it. You’ve heard bridesmaids hoping to re-wear their bridesmaid dresses (PS that rarely happens unfortunately!) but how about re-wearing your wedding dress! Cuz guess what, this plum dress is one that I’d be pulling every chance I’d get! Enjoy the rest of the charming details from this sweet wedding.
