Washington Whimsy {Pinks and Blues}

August 24, 2011 in Washington Weddings by Chantale

There are a few certainties in life. And even fewer in blog-land. But this I know for sure: When Kaylee Eylander Photography pops a submission into my inbox, oh it’s going to be a good one.  And this shoot proves the absolute truth of that statement.  Come onnnn…vintage furniture, the crisp Washington woods, and the perfect blend of eclectic Anthro-esque detail that make me purr.  I could look at these photos all day.  Keep em’ coming Kaylee….

Nautical and Nice {Snohomish Style}

August 3, 2011 in Nautical Wedding, Washington Weddings by Chantale

I missed it. There was a drought in nautical inspiration on the blog. I apologize but offer my sincere regret in the form of this AMAZING, fresh nautical wedding shoot. Forgive me? Of course I can’t take the credit. All praise goes to Kaylee Eylander for these vibrant, breathtaking photos, along with the creative crew of stylist/vendors/artists below who joined forces to deliver a fun-loving seaside wedding shoot. What’s your fave nautical detail???

Langley, Washington Wedding by Ben Blood

July 28, 2011 in Washington Weddings, indie wedding by Chantale

Jen and Broadie.  They are the typical bride and groom that Ben Blood scores as clients.  Which means they’re anything BUT typical.  They’re stylish.  Down-to-earth.  Fun-loving.  And keenly aware that their photographer, Ben, is amazing at what he does.  Frankly, I’m a woman of few words today (spent the day in airports yesterday) so today’s Langley, Washington wedding is perfect.  The pictures speak not only for themselves, but for me as well.

Washington Wedding By Ben Blood

June 3, 2011 in Washington Weddings, indie wedding by Chantale

Last time I featured work by Ben Blood (one of my fave photographers) I gushed to the point that Ben mayyyyy have felt a wee uncomfortable. Like, I think there were about 10 too many sentences that were completely focused on bigging the dude up. But come on, like I can help it. LOOK AT HIS PHOTOS, kids. He’s amazing. Which is why, even if you may have seen this Washington indie wedding floating around the wedding blog universe, well I just had to have it too. Any honest wedding blogger can tell you, we get jealous over cute indie weddings. So thank goodness I got my mitts on Jenny and Kevin’s wedding. So that I can dangle it in front of your pretty faces. Barns, birdcage veils, horses and badminton. Sounds good to me.

Woodinville, Washington {Wedding + Woods}

May 26, 2011 in Washington Weddings by Chantale

This is a {beautiful} lesson about what to do when it rains at your wedding. You allow yourself 30 seconds of sulk time, then you grab the brightest umbrellas you can and HEAD OUTSIDE. No matter what the weather, outdoor photos are a must at your wedding. Think about it, how many wedding blog posts have you been gag over that didn’t have ANY outdoor photos. Answer: Probably not many, if any. Nothing beats natural light and natural beauty. As can be seen by our amazing Washington wedding photos taken by Amelia Soper. She is lovely and talented and one of our Top 10 Wedding Vendors. As you can see from Laura and Samuel’s wedding, Amelia’s work is divine. Laura, our bride, gives us the story of her big day:

We wanted our wedding to show our closest family and friends about our love for each other, our love of food and wine, and our love for each and every guest. We wrote our own vows and chose words for our ceremony that were meaningful to us. All of the details, from the groomsmen’s ties to the processional songs, to the wine cork wreath and a personalized ceremony were picked carefully by the bride and groom. We chose Novelty Hill Januik winery as the perfect spot that blended good taste, modernity, warmth, ambience and killer food and drink! We wanted our guests to leave feeling full (of love and of food!) and happy

Our wedding day was cold and overcast, but not rainy – which is something every Seattle April bride and groom dream of. The winery staff took care of every set-up detail so we could relax and kick back with family and friends. Pre-ceremony photos were taken of the bride, groom, family and bridal party all over the modern winery grounds. Samuel and I shared a few moments alone in the ceremony room before guests arrived to soak in a few moments together. Our ceremony was short, sweet and very personalized, thanks to an amazing officiant (who happens to be a close friend!). After the ceremony our guests enjoyed tray passed hors d oeuvres, including mini baked pastas, sausage phyllo bundles and mini grilled cheese sandwiches. Our amazing photographer Amy continued to work her magic by capturing every moment of our amazing three-course dinner of seared ahi, butter lettuce and radish salad with green goddess dressing, and guest’s choice of main dish – mushroom crusted halibut, prosciutto wrapped chicken, and frizzled leek-topped beef tenderloin. A multi-layered cake featuring both chocolate and red velvet was cut and passed just in time for lovely, personal toasts. Travis Weber of Adam’s DJ Service ensured a full dance floor for the rest of the night, while another close friend of the bride and groom served as the MC.

The night was magical, and while we’re not ones to brag, many of our guests have claimed ours was the best wedding they’ve been to in years. Guests left with handmade recipe cards made by the bride and groom, and the bride and groom left wishing the night would never end.
