Seattle Wedding “Blues”

January 17, 2012 in Washington Weddings by Chantale

Oh HEY!  Nice to see you guys today.  Tuesdays are notoriously my least favorite days of the week.  So I try to stack them with something fun and pretty to look at.  Enter, a gorgeous Seattle wedding shot by one of our fave wedding photographers, Abbey Hepner.  Abbey is a very hands on photographer, not to mention uber talented.  Abby and Alex’s photos from their wedding are proof of her knack for catching all the details perfectly.  And here’s Abbey with her take on this spunky wedding: Abby and Alex were married in downtown Seattle at a beautiful urban venue, Court In The Square. Abby and Alex both met working at a group home and share a passion for good music. Their wedding venue was right downtown near some of the busiest areas. As with any urban wedding, you have to be ready to have a little adventure on your wedding day. Risk getting dirty, do a little exploring and relish in the cheers of congratulations from total strangers. All of these things make for great stories. Abby and Alex have no shortage of stories to tell from a day filled with laughter, good friends and family. At the end of the night Abby and Alex dashed away from the dance floor to go up on the roof together, surrounded by city lights.

Sweet & Simple Washington Wedding

December 8, 2011 in Washington Weddings by Chantale

Sweet simplicity. Sometimes it’s lost in the midst of all the veiling and floral arrangements. But there is beauty and charm in simplicity…style even! Skylar and Chad’s outdoor wedding bash, shot by Courtney Bowlden Photographer is testimony to this truth. While still dolled up with amazing details, the simplicity of their wedding allows their personalities to shine through. Love this wedding…

Farm Fresh Washington Wedding

November 21, 2011 in Rustic Wedding, Washington Weddings by Chantale

Good Monday to y’all. We’ve stacked our Monday with a super sweet Snohomish farm wedding. Krista and Brandon got married at a working farm called Swans Trail Farms.  Judging by the photos, I think many of you Washington brides are gonna be high tailing it over to Swans Trail to view this amazing venue.  From the barn rafters to the barrels of hay – what an amazing venue for an indoor/outdoor wedding! As always, we’re so happy to feature the work of Kaylee Eylander Photography.  She captured every crafted, rustic detail perfectly.  She truly is the perfect asset to your wedding.  There are always an endless amount of INCREDIBLE photos to choose from Kaylee’s submissions.  Enjoy!

Georgetown Beauty {Washington Wedding}

September 7, 2011 in Rustic Wedding, Washington Weddings by Chantale

I’m picky when it comes to veils. Truth be told, I don’t throw down veil compliments very often. Yes, I love birdcage veils but I’m not typically all gaga over longer veils. Today, is an exception. Big time. I love this Georgetown bride’s veil! It’s perfect on her. Chad and Nicole got married at the Georgetown Ballroom and were SMART enough to enlist the services of Angela and Evan as photographers. As per usual, I gush about Angela and Evan. They’re AMAZINGLY talented, but also the nicest people. What a great combo which it comes to your wedding vendor! Angela and Evan are also part of our Top 10 Vendor Guide. Because they’re THAT good.

Snohomish Wedding {DIY MADNESS!}

August 31, 2011 in DIY Wedding Ideas, Washington Weddings by Chantale

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Kid in a candy store. That’s what I am. This Snohomish wedding is out of this world. Literally EVERYTHING you’re taking in here is a DIY wedding project. Like. Everything. And Erin and Kyle, our bride and groom, are making it look easy. A DIY wedding that’s all class. Doesn’t hurt when you have the talented Katy Moran behind the lens, documenting the gorgeous event. It’s all so quaint and stunning! Erin is about to share her DIY projects with us but my faves have to be the coasters. SO original!

My husband and I are probably about the most laid back people that you could know. He grew up in Hobart – a small ‘town’ outside of Seattle, Washington. I grew up all over the greater northwest – and a bit beyond. On our first date, Kyle drove me in his red ford F150 to a field in the middle of nowhere where he taught me how to shoot skeet. Now I’m not that country. I had never gone shooting before. But I love the outdoors and I LOVE to create. I’m an industrial designer with a very crafty side. And our wedding was a great excuse to get knee-deep in projects!

We definitely didn’t want a cliché wedding, but rather one that represented us as a couple. We decided we wanted a laid back wedding on a farm. We then found Swans Trail Farms, and it all grew from there! It is the most beautifully wonderful venue we could have asked for and it set the mood perfectly

Everything you see, we made (except maybe the wedding dress!). Kyle cut down dead trees and sliced them into coaster. I painted them and wrote our guests names & table numbers on them. I designed all the signage, save the dates, invitations and ceremony programs. A friend and I ordered flowers online and created the arrangements ourselves. I made the earrings that myself and my bridesmaids wore. I made my veil and fascinator. I cut the burlap & lace table runners, attached all the lace to the mason jars which were mostly collected and purchased on craisglist, and created the burlap flag table numbers. The groomsmen wore clothes they already had, I bought the ties from goodwill, the bridesmaids wore a ‘beige or cream’ dress of choice. My aunt and uncle made the pies and my cousin and grandfather cut the stumps in Montana. My uncle officiated and wore my late grandfather’s shoes. A friend’s mom catered. A friend from college photographed. Guests signed river rocks with paint pens and dropped them into apothecary jars. It was a serious group effort and we are blessed to have such amazing and supportive friends and family.
