Finger Lakes “Vintage Harvest”

December 7, 2011 in New York Wedding, Rustic Wedding, Uncategorized by Chantale

Vintage Harvest. Yup, that’s what our bride, Alison’s vision was. A fall vintage harvest near the Finger Lakes. Amazing, right? Even more amazing is that our bride is a long time La Belle Bride reader. Which means we love her. I mean we love everyone but we ESPECIALLY love our readers. Obvs.  Alison painted a really awesome picture of her day to share with us. Here she is with her day in her own words:

We hosted our celebration in my hometown of Canandaigua, New York because the Finger Lakes area is perennially stunning, especially in autumn when the leaves turn brilliant colors. Canandaigua means “the chosen spot” and we could not be more delighted and grateful that we chose this incredible place for our wedding. When imagining our special day, I wanted to play off the natural beauty of the area, which in the fall means farm stands spilling over with apples, pumpkins, mums, and wheat and fall hues like merlot, rust, taupe, and burnt orange.

Since I was a little girl, I had always dreamed of wearing my grandmother’s satin and lace wedding gown from 1944. The color of the satin is called “candlelight” – so romantic, don’t you think? My mom worked lovingly for over a year to restore and reconstruct the gown. Taken all together, I came up with a phrase to describe my vision for our wedding (for which friends and family teased me endlessly): Vintage Harvest!fall wedding ideas

Derek and I could not be more grateful for the countless friends and family members who helped to execute this vision. They made our cold and rainy wedding day so cozy and warm. My mom’s brilliant turn as couturier, yards of burlap, mason jars, sheaves of wheat, haybales, apples, mini pumpkins, a sea of mums, lush fall florals, cozy orange uplighting, a canopy of twinkle lights, clear umbrellas, a genius maid of honor serenade from my twin sister, and a whole lotta love came together in perfect harmony to create a magical day that we will cherish forever.

Softly Rustic {BC Wedding Style}

December 5, 2011 in British Columbia Wedding, Rustic Wedding by Chantale

Rustic and pretty go hand in hand. We have a few skeptics out there that think rustic means dirt and dust. But today’s stunning wedding shoot is here to prove the naysayers wrong.  Rustic weddings can indeed be gorgeous, feminine and inspiring.  Together with a motley crew of incredible wedding vendors, Vancouver wedding photographer Jamie Delaine and Wedding Coordinator Jaclyn Helle of 6Pence Wedding Planning & Design set out on a quest to combine the rustic feel of BC with a color palette and tablescape that any princess would adore.  Oh, and I have ZERO clue where you found your model, but she’s one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen.  STUNNING!

Rustic Wedding {Colorado Styles}

November 28, 2011 in Colorado Wedding, Rustic Wedding by Chantale

HEYO!  Happy Monday and happy long weekend to my US friends!  I’ve got a killer wedding for y’all today.  Rustic and lovely.  A great combo.  This Colorado wedding was shot by Adam & Imthiaz Photography.  They’ve done an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE job of documenting all the pretty, perfect rustic details.  Editing was an issue today, I won’t lie to you.  Here’s some details about the wedding from the lovely photographers: Megan and Travis are the perfect match. Their wedding day was as laid back as they are and matched their style to a tee. The reception was hosted at Megan’s family home in Fort Collins, CO. These two are so laid back instead of celebrating with cake they celebrated with ice cream out of Styrofoam cups. Their day was the perfect celebration and the combination of vintage and classic made their wedding one of the best we’ve photographed this year.

Rustic Lake Retreat Wedding {BC, Canada}

November 11, 2011 in British Columbia Wedding, Rustic Wedding by Chantale

I wanna own a farm. Literally. Seems like a great idea, right? My love for animals and all things woodsy would indicate this to be a wise investment. Except, I really wouldn’t know the first thing about farming! We’ll leave it to Ryan and Melanie, today’s bride and groom, who own a 4 acre farm in Maple Ridge, BC. Their love for the woods drove the inspiration behind their incredible lake retreat wedding at Whonnock Lake. As any bride will agree, it’s the small family touches that you cherish from your wedding day. In Melanie’s case, her dad married them, her brother played in the band and their cousins took the photos. A truly fun family affair! Happy Friday, friends!
