Hello 2011 – Hello Vintage Wedding!
Well hello 2011. Look at you, all sparkly and new. And may I say, I’ve been waiting for you. Eagerly. Is it weird that I kinda start looking forward to work while on holidays? Am I alone here? In any event, I’m happy to be back to regular blogging. I loved our Top 10 Weddings of 2010 countdown but really, I’m just so excited to press on and drop kick 2011 with some amazing La Belle Bride blogging. As always, I’ve got a few secrets up my sleeve for La Belle Bride that will be unveiled SUPER SOON. Let’s just say we’re getting a wee face lift and some new bells and whistles to make our brides-to-be super happy. I’ve also been working my tail off on some DIY projects that we’ll be trickling out to you guys very, very soon. I’m pretty giddy about it frankly.
So how do we start off 2011? With some incredible vintage wedding inspiration (of course). Really, would you expect less? I stumbled across this amazing Audrey Hepburn inspired wedding when researching our fashion Friday piece on Audrey Hepburn’s wedding style in Funny Face. This wedding is sheer perfection and was captured in perfect photographic genius by Justin and Mary Marantz. Rachel, our bride, emulated Audrey’s style effortlessly. I love a bride in red lipstick. And I love that Rachel just HAD to have a shoe change mid-way through her day. I also love that Rachel wanted a short dress so badly that she just opted to hem her dress super short. Not a bad idea ladies! Enjoy these incredible photos and all the cute peacock details throughout. I know I did!

I truly love this wedding. It’s ridiculously pretty, and so simple. Great post, Chantale. As always. Hope you’re having a great start to your new year!
I was just wondering if I could get away with posting this wedding again this year-one of my absolute all-time favorites! So glad to see it again!
This has to be one of my favorite wedding postings. Super Classy!
Everyone cannot pull this off: the red lipstick. But she certainly can. What a great real wedding to start the year with!
Gorgeous bride, gorgeous dress, gorgeous details!
I just love the vintage royal icing cake. It reminds me of the cakes my mom used to cook. In my mind, I can taste the deliciousness.
One of my favorites…. FOR SURE!!!!
LOVE her dress!
Anyone know where she got her dress?
I would really like to know where her dress is from too! Please let us know.
My sister came across this site while looking for inspiration for her upcoming wedding! I was thrilled to see our wedding photos featured, and noticed some inquiries about where I found my dress!! My dress was purchased from a tiny boutique (Vienna Bridal) in Parkersburg, WV. This was the same boutique my mother purchased her dress from more than thirty years ago, so it made it extra special. At the time I purchased it, the dress was floor length with a six foot train. I had my tailor hem the dress to tea length so it would be the Audrey inspired dress I had dreamed of! If you are searching for a vintage inspired dress, don’t be afraid to think outside the box! A fantastic tailor and a altered hemline totally transformed this dress into the one I had searched and hoped for!! Hope this helps!!
