Vintage Wedding – Great Gatsby Inspired and Gorgeous
Well this just blew my mind. Seriously. Prepare to have your mind blown by one of the coolest wedding shoots I’ve EVER SEEN. I’m sorry, but I’m not even being dramatic. This right here is SO vintage. SO old Hollywood glam. And just SO seriously beautiful.
I mean the idea itself – A Great Gatsby vintage wedding shoot – JUST the idea of it is amazing. But the execution of this shoot is just on a whole other level of indie coolness that gives us vintage lovers the shivers. Ashlee from Sakura Photo (and new vintage bff of mine – although she doesn’t know it…till now) is a sheer genius. She’s not only the epic photographer behind this shoot but also the stylist. And Ashlee, let me just say that we are SO crushing on your style. You’ve not only delivered incredible vintage wedding inspiration to a ton of brides, but you’ve also got me hyped for the movie release! Here’s Ashlee with some deets on her inspiration:
This Gatsby Inspired styled wedding shoot was styled and photographed by myself, Ashlee Carter of Sakura Photo (www.sakuraphoto.com) at the historic Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas, TX. I am a huge fan of Art Deco and the Roaring Twenties and wanted to create and photograph my dream vision of a wedding styled for this glamorous era
The shoot features vanilla cupcakes with an art deco flower motif by Opulent Cakes, vintage roses arrangements and bouquet by Blue Lotus Floral Design, flapper-style hair by Ryan Chambers Hair and makeup by JTorry Makeup Artistry. An ivory embellished mesh gown, white ostrich feather and pearl fascinator and an art deco silver brooch and Swarovski crystal shoe clips adorn the bride. The mahogany dinner table is decorated with Limoges china, cut glass decanters, silver candelabras, antique skeleton keys, old cameras and willow branch lights from world to home (www.worldtohome.com). 1920s spearmint candy from Old Time Candy Company (www.oldtimecandy.com) round out the details.
