Toronto Wedding – Classic Vintage Style
We’ve got some home grown love today! Toronto’s in the house! Courtney and Darren’s wedding is a great reminder for many brides: you can’t go wrong with a classic take on wedding style. It’s sometimes a sweet, understated style that translates into an overall chic wedding day.
Jennifer Ballard is the wonderful wedding photographer from today’s wedding. Her wedding photos are the perfect balance of artistry and detail. And it really is the details from this wedding that stand out. Courtney’s veil is stunning. Not to mention that gold throw! I’m also a fan of the predominantly white tablescape. Clean and crisp.
Of note, Courtney and Darren’s story is a reminder about the more important things in life. Here’s Courtney with her memories:
We had always wanted a very intimate wedding. Unfortunately, Darren had an emergency brain operation 30 days before the wedding. The experience made us realize that life is so precious and that all the pomp and circumstance of a wedding didn’t matter. The result was a very intimate affair with our 52 nearest and dearest friends and family emphasizing the warmth of autumn and the joy and happiness of love and life.
My mom, a friend and myself had a Sunday party and did the apple place cards, scarecrows, menus, quiz and guest book which was a fun but low-key way to make the wedding a really unique affair.
Darren is from England and he wanted to emphasize a little bit of Canadiana and Britannia in what he wore, so he and my brother wore one cufflink and one sock each of a CN Tower/Canadian Flag and a Big Ben/Union Jack Flag.
All in all the wedding was everything we had wanted which couldn’t have been possible without our fabulous vendors, family and friends.
