Costa Rica Wedding with Yellow Wedding Details

We’re getting tropical people. Grab your bikinis. We’re heading to Costa Rica! When I first laid eyes on this tropical Costa Rica destination wedding, I was struck by how coordinated and pretty everything was. Brides sometimes fear that destination weddings can seem a bit thrown together, what with being so far away while planning. The solution: Having an amazing wedding coordinator like Samantha Kohn of Events & Weddings Costa Rica .  And can I just say she doesn’t throw down some cookie cutter wedding! This wedding is rustic, adorable and personalized. The amazing yellow details killed me! Could you ask for more? Take a peek at these photos. NOTHING is missing. It’s sheer loveliness. Michelle, the bride, must have been tickled pink.

Michelle’s story:

We drew our inspiration from our love of travel. We chose to highlight the “wheels” that took us around the world; the romantic tandem bike, the 24 hour flight, the crowded subway, the scooter too small for the both of us, the awesome double-decker bus, the ferry that very often makes her sick… We put these “wheels” on our DIY favors, seating cards, menus, and the guest book. The invitations designed by Catbird Paper told the story of where we met and where we were heading. We used the charcoal color dominant in the grand columns of the Casa Vista Magnifica and combined it with big splashes of yellow and sprinkles of pink. To share our appreciation of a good cup of coffee, we gave our guests a bag of coffee beans, freshly roasted in our backyard.

We had a very rainy wedding day. This coupled with the villa losing electricity and water four hours before the wedding meant a resourceful bunch of vendors, extremely patient wedding guests, and loads of graciousness as we scrambled to nearby hotels to get ready. What we remember, despite the uncooperative weather, was how stress-free the wedding was. What we will always take with us is the beauty of Costa Rica, the selfless love of family and friends, and the moment of knowing you found the one.
