Real Wedding: Rori + Matthew

Hello friends! I'm in NYC today (shop, shop, shop) but I just HAD to share this cute little wedding with you from Joey Nicole, a darling Seattle based wedding photographer.

I know many of you will enjoy how Rori, the bride, chose such a vibrant color palette for her day. I really dig brides who make bold decisions on their day!

Here's what Rori had to say about her day:

Our theme was classic vintage, with casual modern touches. Since Matt and I had our first date in downtown Seattle, we knew right away we wanted a venue in the heart of the city. Five years ago, Matt wrote an ad on Craigslist searching for the love of his life. I happened upon his witty ad, and decided to respond. Two months later we met, and knew instantly that we were meant to be. Five years later, we tied the knot at the Palace Ballroom in downtown Seattle.

I wore a beautiful antique-gold dress. It was layer upon layer of beautiful material. The top layer was intricate lace, with beading details. I incorporated my great-grandmother, my grandmother, and my mother’s necklaces into my ensemble to honor each of them. Matt wore a simple, three-button classic tuxedo and he and his groomsmen wore Chuck Taylor Converse to help emphasize our casual style.

Our colors were primarily ivory, black, and red with scatterings of other light colors (mostly turquoise). Another theme that was present throughout the evening was “Seattle”. From the delicious Tom Douglas food, to the Washington wines, the Seattle photography guest book, and the Jones Soda, Seattle was everywhere.

My whole family is extremely creative. So when it came time to cut some corners, DIY projects were life savers. The aisle decorations of tall cylinder glass vases with rose pedals and candles, the programs, menus, name cards were done by myself and family – a process that took two months.

We loved our wedding. The day went amazingly flawless. We didn’t have a wedding planner, but our vendor manager at the venue acted as one, and every little detail was taken care of. That ended up being the most comforting and enjoyable part of our day.

Thanks Rori! Congrats you guys.
