DIY Wedding Ideas: Travel Themed Banner

Recently I hosted a wedding shower for my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Kristen. Because she is somewhat of a world traveler we decided to make it an “Around The World” themed shower. With dishes and drinks from different countries she’d visited. The décor for the party consisted of globes, paper airplanes, a tablecloth made of map fabric etc. Plus, a cute “Almost Married” banner made from travel themed paper and paper airplanes. Thought I’d share it all with you guys!

STEPS:

1. All you need for this DIY project is an assortment of paper, scissors and string.
2. Print out the Almost Married template and cut the letters out.
3. and 4. Trace the template onto your decorative paper and cut the letters out.
5. Poke two small holes (I used a needle to do this) into the top of your first letter.
6. Weave your string through the two holes.
7. Repeat with the rest of the letters.

Here are some instructions for creating a basic paper airplane. You can add these to each side of your banner by threading it onto the string or you can just tape them up onto the wall. Whichever is easier!

Voila! A lovely paper airplane! Hope you enjoyed this DIY. It was a big hit at our party : )
