DIY Wedding Ideas – Bird Centerpieces
It’s no secret: I love birds. So when I can incorporate them into a DIY project, I’m particularly excited! My next few wedding DIYs are geared towards you bird lovers out there so stay tuned!
This DIY is SUPER EASY and very user friendly for you craft-challenged brides. It’s also a great centerpiece or décor element for brides on a budget.
MATERIALS:
- spray painted pine cones (You can do them yourself or get them from the dollar store around the holidays like we did!) – $1
- 2 round vases – $2 each
- ribbon (As many different kinds as you’d like)- $1
- birds (Again as many as you’d like. We purchased a lot of 30 birds off ebay.)- $20 for all 30
- bird nest – $2
- moss – $3 for an entire bag
STEPS:
- Place a small piece of moss inside the nest and arrange your birds inside (You can glue them into the nest if you’d like)
- Arrange one vase upside down on top of the nest with your birds inside.
- Place another small piece of moss on top of the upside down vase and place another bird or two on the moss.
- Flip your second vase upside down on the first vase. (Again you can crazy glue them together if you feel they’re not sturdy)
- Decorate around the two-tiered vases with ribbon and pine cones.
VOILA! A great flowerless centerpiece.
